On the 20th June 2008 Anglicare WA acknowledged and celebrated the work of many volunteers and paid staff who have delivered the Emergency relief program that commenced in 1976. The Emergency relief program has provided assistance to thousands of people through its earlydays at West Perth, and nowdays East Perth locations.

The celebration gathering recognised the longevity of commitment of each volunteer, from those who have participated for a year through to some amazing people who have contributed for 10 and up to 15 years. What a wonderfully generous gift the volunteers have given to people who are experiencing a crisis or emergency in their life and seeking some assistance.

Anglicare WA now embarks on a new way of providing Emergency Relief at East Perth through a closer tie to the agency’s casework services. Emergency Relief is not ceasing at the East Perth location, only changing. People accessing the services offered through Anglicare WA East Perth location will now have a strengthened and more holistic response.
